10 years in business with continued growth

Sunshine Coast business celebrates 10 years in business with continued growth. Local business leader Linda Delamotte’s business, Your Home Care is celebrating 10 years of business and now employs just under 100 people.

As a former nurse and passionate advocator of people living with disabilities, Linda Delamotte, Managing Director of Your Home Care, gave up the security of a high paying role 10 years ago, to start her own business that was aimed at providing in home care to some of the most vulnerable in our society – the elderly and those living with a disability.

Like all small businesses the first years were the hardest, but she built a reputation on providing outstanding care and support based around the clients’ needs and to this day matching the right carer with each client remains at the top of her priority list.
“The relationship between a carer and the client is one that is built on respect and trust, and it is absolutely essential that we get that right every time”, Ms Delamotte said.
“When we have clients with high dependency needs, that means we build a team around them, and every single person in that team is hand selected as they are integral to ensuring the client is able to live and enjoy their life to the best it can be and we have a responsibility to ensure we deliver on our promise to them.”
Ms Delamotte now employs just under 100 staff, and her company services all areas of South East Queensland from Gympie to South Brisbane and out to Ipswich and Toowoomba.

Having an extensive background in nursing has also made it easier to take on complex cases and Linda remains involved in the care plans that are implemented for each client.

“I am fortunate to have built the business to a point where I now have a team of wonderful people around me who all align to the values of the business, but I still am very much involved and across each client, especially those that require additional levels of support.

“I am very proud that both our administrative and care teams are all committed first and foremost to ensuring every client receives the care they need and that they are never kept waiting for us to arrive. We fit in with their requirements and what they need – and not the other way around”.

To ensure she could continue find outstanding care workers who were trained to the level she requires, Ms Delamotte last year started a second, supplementary business, Support Worker Training, which trains people to gain a qualification in the Certificate III in Individual Support which is the new qualification for the Aged Care, Disability and Home and Community Care industries.
